Amsterdam, March 19, 2024 - Finch Buildings receives an investment from the Amsterdam Climate and Energy Fund (AKEF) to address the climate crisis and housing shortage in the Netherlands.
The construction sector is responsible for nearly 40% of CO2-emissions in the Netherlands. At Finch Buildings, we are pioneers in using solid timber (CLT) to develop healthy, carbon-saving buildings. This sustainable material, sourced from responsibly managed forests, is central to our mission to make a positive impact on the environment and revolutionize the building industry.
Thanks to the investment from the Amsterdam Climate and Energy Fund, we can further develop and expand our platform and organization to make a significant contribution to solving both the climate crisis and the housing shortage in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. Together we are building a greener, more sustainable future.
Jurrian Knijtijzer, founder of Finch Buildings, expresses his enthusiasm about the collaboration: "AKEF's support will allow us to accelerate our vision of making sustainable living accessible to all. We look forward to working with partners and clients to increase our impact and continue to be at the forefront of the transition to sustainable construction."
Casper Heijsteeg, Fund Manager of AKEF, adds: "We are impressed by the innovative power of the team behind Finch Buildings and are delighted that this investment will give a boost to the application of modular timber construction in Amsterdam!"
We thank the Amsterdam Climate and Energy Fund for their trust and support, and DOEN Participations and AMAVI Capital for our long-term partnership. Collaboration is the key to innovation and sustainable progress. We look forward to the future and are ready to increase our impact.
