Finch Buildings is growing: we’re looking for new team members

Finch Buildings Job Openings

Wood construction is no longer a niche market. Whereas just a few years ago we mainly had to explain what modular wood construction entails, the focus has now shifted to implementation: how do we scale up, and how do we continue to develop the system as projects move forward? That’s why we’ll be expanding our team with even more specialists in the coming period.

The focus is on our project team, which includes roles such as work planner, BIM modeler, and architectural engineer, as well as an opening for an architectural engineering intern. This is where design, engineering, and production come together, and where the work begins long before the first module leaves the factory. Our modules are designed down to the last detail: that is the strength of our system, and it is also where most of our intellectual effort is focused.

Because the work doesn’t stop at drafting what’s already on the table. Research is an integral part of these roles: testing new design details, evaluating materials and suppliers, and figuring out how we can further integrate circular principles into the system. Wood construction is a young field in which knowledge is still being actively developed, and we’d rather contribute to that development than sit back and wait. The same goes for our internship program: we believe it’s important for aspiring architects to gain that knowledge not only from the classroom but also from hands-on experience.

We’re also expanding our sales team. More and more developers, housing associations, and municipalities are seriously exploring wood construction. We want to handle those discussions effectively: being honest about what the system can do, clear about scheduling and costs, and working with a partner who contributes ideas from the very first sketch.

Since 2014, we have built over 1,000 homes using modular wood construction. Built to last, designed for circularity. We’re a tight-knit team with short lines of communication, where you remain involved in what you’re creating from design through to completion.
