On Oct. 27, the Pakhuis de Zwijger the stage for everyone who believes in the power of building with wood. Finch Buildings is a proud partner of Timber Construction XL 2025 - a day full of inspiration, knowledge sharing and concrete steps toward a biobased construction industry.

For the fourth time, Pakhuis de Zwijger will host the Houtbouw XL day: a full-day program focused on accelerating the transition to a sustainable built environment, with wood as the key material. The afternoon program offers in-depth expert sessions on topics such as, moisture, heat/cooling, spatial planning principles, wood detailing, standardization, utility construction, business cases and more. In the evening we focus on inspiring projects from home and abroad, the scaling up of timber construction in the Netherlands, robust debates and the latest trends within the sector.

This day is designed for professionals working in the built environment. It provides valuable knowledge and networking opportunities for builders, architects, policy makers, developers, insurers, housing associations, investors, researchers, consultants, manufacturers and structural engineers, among others.

Timber construction requires more than simply replacing concrete with CLT. In this session, we'll explore what it means to truly design in wood. What systems do you choose? How do those choices affect aesthetics, detailing and execution? What does timber construction require from designers, clients and builders? Together with Dennis Hauer, Lidewij Lenders, Bob Elzen Robert van Ieperen Jurrian dives into practice - where design and execution come together.
