Commissioned by area and real estate developer AM, Finch Buildings, together with factory De Groot Vroomshoop, has realized the first all-wood residential building in the environmentally friendly residential area Landgoed Wickevoort. Wickevoort is a green neighborhood on the grounds of the Cruquiushoeve in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, with some 57 hectares being redeveloped into a green residential area with sports, care, residential and educational facilities. A total of 800 homes for sale and rent will be realized.
The modular building named "SEIN Special" was designed by Finch Buildings and consists entirely of wood, both the structure and the facade. 9 modules provide space for 8 studios of 41 m2 and one module provides storage for all residents. There is a gallery at the front and at the rear, each apartment has its own outdoor space. Nature-inclusive features are incorporated into the architecture of the building, such as nesting boxes for bats and permanent flower boxes on the gallery and in the outdoor space of all residents.
