In February 2022, a fire raged at the Eijmershof on Kaageiland in the South Holland village of Kaag. In the process, the apartment complex was completely destroyed, necessitating a new plan at this unique location.

The owner of the apartment complex and the municipality of Kaag en Braassem chose Heembouw as the builder to realize a new complex. In cooperation with Heembouw Architects and Finch Buildings, a sustainable and future-oriented design was created.

Residence Eijmershof is an apartment complex of 22 rental units constructed entirely of solid wood. This material, chosen for its durability and low carbon footprint, fits perfectly with the location and vision of the project. Finch Buildings modules are prefabricated in the factory and delivered by ship to minimize inconvenience. This construction method is a great advantage in view of the limited infrastructure for construction traffic on Kaageiland.
