BLOK is a traveling, demountable pavilion packed with biobased and circular innovations. Finch modules form the structural foundation of the building. It will be on display for the first time during Dutch Design Week 2026 at Strijp-S in Eindhoven.

A traveling showcase of circular construction
The BLOK Pavilion is an initiative of JAJO: a collaboration among dozens of organizations, each of which contributes its own expertise to create a pavilion that demonstrates what is possible when you build in a truly different way. It is CO2-neutral, biobased, demountable, and full of innovative materials and systems.
Finch modules form the structural foundation of the building. The modules are prefabricated at the Elementem factory in Hardenberg and assembled on-site at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. Thanks to the detachable steel-to-steel connections between the modules, the pavilion can be dismantled after Dutch Design Week and reassembled at a new location.
Modular wood construction as a structural foundation
The Finch modules give BLOK its load-bearing capacity, its dimensions, and its circular nature. These are the same modules that Finch Buildings has used to construct more than 1,000 apartments: proven, certified, and designed for a long service life. That proven system now forms the backbone of a pavilion that brings biobased construction to life for a wide audience.
Can be disassembled and reassembled
What sets BLOK apart from other pavilions is that it is not temporary in the traditional sense. The building is designed to travel. After Dutch Design Week, BLOK will head to its next location: a construction site, a campus, or a neighborhood development project. At each stop, the conversation about sustainable building is given a new platform. The Finch modules make this possible in a literal sense: they can always be disassembled, which allows them to retain their value.

BLOK is from October 17 through 25, 2026 to be visited at Machinekamerplein in Strijp-S, Eindhoven, as part of Dutch Design Week. A program of events will be offered in the pavilion, including an event organized by Finch Buildings.
