De Arend

1930s 'cast' in wood

In Badhoevedorp, Finch Buildings has designed a translation of 1930s architecture into timber construction for our client AM Wonen. Characteristic 1930s elements such as an asymmetric solid volume, horizontal divisions, and round accents have each been translated into wood. The typical craftsmanship often executed with brick is translated here into carefully designed wood details. A building for the future with the charm of the 1930s. ‘De Arend’ proves there are many architectural possibilities and that modular construction does not have to be uniform.
