Leading solid wood building is in Monnickendam

Housing Corporation Wooncompagnie has been nominated for a sustainable building Award in the category ' most sustainable housing corporation ' with the project M'DAM in Monnickendam. The project is a collaboration between Wooncompagnie, Finch Buildings, De Groot Vroomshoop and BMB Ontwikkeling.

' As a corporation we want to realise sufficient affordable housing and provide a sustainable and diverse housing offer, ' says director-driver Stefan van Schaik of Wooncompagnie. 'Within this special project in Monnickendam, these two performance fields blend perfectly together. Thanks to the project, in which gass, circular, CO2-loos and very efficient construction is built, we can add 20 extremely sustainable social housing properties to our stock in the foreseeable period.

Jurrian Knijtijzer, founder and creator of Finch Buildings, is very pleased with the nomination: ' We have been working at Finch Buildings since 2014 on the mission to design buildings that are a solution to combat climate change. It gives extra energy to see that with this nomination we get recognition for our first major permanent housing project. It strengthens our conviction that we are on the right track!

Ed Davey: From BMB Development: ' We create special places where people live or work pleasantly. With our partners we work together to build the future: Enable fast, flexible and sustainable solutions for everyone, anywhere, temporarily or permanently. This nomination gives us confirmation that innovation is being noticed. '

Wim Sturris, director of De Groot Vroomshoop: 'Great to be able to contribute to sustainable development from our factory of wooden buildings! '
